Evidence-Based Dentistry
This new content area features a searchable directory of systematic reviews, a glossary of terms, and additional resources on evidence-based dentistry.
  • Links to systematic review abstracts (available on PubMed) are grouped alphabetically in an A-Z topic list. The systematic reviews were identified through a literature search of PubMed. Links to summaries of the systematic reviews are provided if available, but the summaries were not developed by the ADA.

  • In some cases, links are provided to the full-text copy of systematic reviews published in the Journal of the American Dental Association (JADA). Publishers of other journals may be contacted for full copies of their respective reviews. Requests for photocopies of articles can also be made through the ADA Library.

  • Get definitions for evidence-based dentistry, systematic reviews and other common terms for this section on the glossary page.

The EBD content area is an interim resource as the ADA develops an enhanced EBD Web site with grant support from the National Library of Medicine and NIDCR. In the future, the EBD online resources will include critical summaries of systematic reviews and additional resources.

Systematic reviews available through ADA.org have not been appraised. Inclusion of a link does not imply an endorsement of the site or the materials found on it.
