Give KIds a smile® Program Provides Free Oral Health Care to Thousands
Give Kids a Smile Photo

On Friday, February 2, 2007, the nation's dentists provided free oral health care services to thousands of low-income children across the country. The ADA's fifth annual Give Kids A Smile® national children's dental access day, during National Children's Dental Health Month, enhanced the oral health of large numbers of needy children. Give Kids A Smile activities also highlight for policy makers the ongoing challenges that low-income and disabled children face in accessing dental care.

FIND HELPFUL tools For participation in national children's dental health month

National Children's Dental Health Month grew from a two-city event in 1941 into a nationwide program today. Children's oral health messages reach millions of people in dental offices, medical facilities, schools, armed forces bases and through community groups. Held in February each year, local observances often include poster, coloring, or essay contests, as well as health fairs, free dental screenings, museum exhibits, classroom presentation and dental office tours.
